Henry Signs for Arsenal (almost)

Thierry Henry is back training at Arsenal

Not to be outdone by David Beckham’s training stint with Spurs, Arsenal unleashed their own star name training attendee today in the shape of former Gunners legend, Thierry Henry.

Henry, 33, last played for the North London club at the end of the 2006/7 season prior to signing for Barcelona. But the French sharp-shooter never really settled in Spain, and sign for Major League Soccer side, New York Red Bulls last season.

Similarly to Beckham’s situation, Henry is training with a view to getting fit for the upcoming MLS season, which kicks off in March.

A posting on Arsenal’s official website stated: “Thierry Henry is back at Arsenal.

“The Gunners legend returned to London Colney on Monday to train with Arsene Wenger’s squad. The short-term arrangement will help Henry maintain his fitness ahead of the new MLS campaign, which begins in March.

“Henry joined the New York Red Bulls last year and helped them reach the play-offs, where they lost on aggregate to San Jose Earthquakes in November.”
