Champion Draws Review

Champion Draws is a tipping service via email, for backing the draw, mainly on European leagues. Emails are sent twice a week and they have a strict staking plan.

The past results from August 2010, published on the website,  show a level stakes profit of 33%.

The monthly subscription to Champion Draws is 39GBP per month.

Since selections are limited at around 20-25 a month, I will be following the Champion Draws system for eight weeks so we can get a reasonable amount of selections to look at.

Champion Draws has a specific staking plan of four levels to use with the selections, A at 3% of the bank, B at 6%, C at 9%, and D at 12%, of the total bank at the time of bet placement. After consultation with the people at Champion Draws, they advise that we should start the review at the precise point they are in the staking for each league. With each email, they advise which level bet we are up to with each league.

I will begin with a bank of 1000GBP.  As a unit representation I will refer to 1 unit as being 1% of the initial bank.

Champion Draws – Final Review

Well, not a great period for Champion Draws, after quite a long period of good returns prior to this review.

Final results, after 65 days of reviewing, comprising 29 bets left us with the following losses:

Level stakes finished 155.20 down, or -15.52 units.

The staking plan was abysmal, at 679.49 down, or -68% of the starting bank.

We had 29 selections for only 4 wins. There was one run of ten outs and one of eleven.

The website faithfully and truthfully, record and display their results. So if you wish to see how they go getting out of this slump, you should be able to have a fair bit of faith in their records. Odds advised were easy enough to obtain. Even better odds were fairly often available. The emails advising of the selections were always sent in plenty of time and very clear in their instructions. Regarding these points, I would say that the operators are genuine and honestly endeavouring to provide a great service.

Considering the fees are  39GBP per month, you don’t get that many selections in that time.

The poor result of the staking plan demonstrates how well staking plans amplify either positive returns, or, in this case, negative returns. Beware.

If I was to subscribe to Champion Draws, I would probably want to be staking about 50GBP on each selection in order to have a chance to make a reasonable return after paying the monthly fees. I would also only be level staking.

Unfortunately I will have to give Champion Draws a Fail for this review period. It is up to individuals to read all the relevant material and make up their own minds.

Well certainly a horror run. What can we glean from all this though? It’s interesting for us all to take note of what can happen despite seemingly good (even spectacular) previous proofing of a system. These losing runs are not to be unexpected with any statistic that has a strike rate of 1 in 3.  We must always be aware of the variance that any system is liable to and take that in to account when making a diligent assessment of whether a system is right for us or not, and the staking plan and bank we implement if we do take on a system. Be careful with your bank!

So, the first weekend of action is over and we have a small profit from three bets.

As I mentioned, we are joining in the staking plan at the levels each league is currently at. So for this first weekend, we should have had a C bet on Blackburn v Newcastle, and B bets on the other two matches.

The winning bet on Blackburn v Newcastle finishes that series and we will start the next England Premier bet as an A bet.
